Description: Euchre is a four-players game wherein the players of the opposite side are paired to form two partnerships.
Instructions: The goal of the game is to score a total of 10 points or more by collecting the most tricks in each hand of play.
Euchre uses a deck of 24 standard playing cards consisting of A, K, Q, J, 10, 9 of each suit. When a suit is named trump, any card of that suit outranks any card of a non-trump suit. The highest ranking card is the Jack of the selected suit (right bower), then the other Jack of the same color (left bower). In descending order thereafter it is A K Q 10 9.
Each player will be dealt five cards, the top of the remaining cards will be revealed to the players and becomes the trump if any player calls. Players can either pass or ask the dealer to pick up the card. Once the dealer picked up the card, the trump is set. The team calling trump will become "attackers" and the other team will become "defenders". If all players pass and no trump was made, then every player get a chance to call any suit (except the one proposed) as trump and become the attackers.
Player may declare "going alone" in an attempt to win the most points from a hand. However, "going alone" will remove his partner from the game, making it much harder to win a trick. Defenders may choose to defend alone, if he successfully defended against a lone attacker, double points will be rewarded for his team.
Once the trump is made, the player to the left of the dealer will go first by playing any cards in his hand. Player who follows must play a card of the same suit if they can. After all players in- game finished their turns, the highest ranking card will win the trick. The team with the most tricks will gain points according to the following rules:
Attackers have 0 – 2 tricks, the other team wins 2 points
Attackers have 0 – 2 tricks while both team "going alone", the other team wins 4 points
Attackers have 3 or 4 tricks, this team wins 1 point
Attackers have all 5 tricks, this team wins 2 points
Attackers have all 5 tricks while "going alone", this team wins 4 points
